Director’s Notes
Hello Band Families!
It’s been a great first full week, and we’re excited for our first gameday this coming Friday! Come out to support your Marching Titans, and the premier performance of “It’s Alive!”
Please note that because of Night in the Classroom on Thursday, our marching band rehearsals this week are Monday and Wednesday. For Friday’s game, students need to wear their band polos under their uniforms. In order for us to be able to take off the uniform jackets on Friday (weather permitting), we must be uniform as a band. Students, please arrive early enough to be in full uniform by 5:30 for the start of our rehearsal.
I look forward to seeing our band families on Thursday night!

We need all families to participate – no experience necessary!! Please sign up to help ensure all of our upcoming events run smoothly for all of our students.

Volunteers wear yellow shirts to be easily identified by students if they need assistance.
Every volunteer shift served during the 2026-2027 school year will earn 1 entry for a prize to be awarded at the GBS Band Banquet in the spring
(*a member of the winner’s family must be present to collect the prize).

*If paying by check or cash, please put in an envelope with your student’s name & drop off to Mr. Boron’s office.
Student band fees help support the band in a variety of ways:
- uniform pieces
- marching band show design
- equipment items such as the golf cart
- truck rentals to transport instruments & equipment to competitions
- school owned instruments
- awards and trophies given out at the annual band banquet
- yearly show patches
- recruitment t-shirts given to 8th graders
- pizza/sandwich/etc. meals throughout the year, etc.
- concert band music
- post-concert refreshments
- misc. GBSIL expenses – website, taxes, etc.
The GBSIL also maintains an Angel Fund to subsidize band fees and partial band trip costs for families in need of financial support.
