Director’s Notes
Hello Band Families! Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful winter break! We are jumping right back in with a busy week in band!
We kick off our 2025 performances on Tuesday with Pep Band and have another game on Friday! You can find the full schedule here.
V-Show Auditions are this week on Wednesday and Saturday! If you would like to be in the Pit Band for the 50th Annual V-Show, you can sign up here! You can view the full Pit schedule here! It’s going to be the BEST V-SHOW EVER! If you would like to reserve the band room to practice your act, please email Mr. Boron.
This Friday and Saturday, a handful of GBS Band students will be participating in the North Shore Honor Band Festival at Lake Forest High School. If you were selected for this, you will be receiving a permission slip this week. If you are participating in North Shore Honor Band and auditioning for V-Show, please make sure you have signed up for a Wednesday audition time.

GBSIL is looking for donations to be auctioned off at the Jazz Cafe Silent Auction on Tuesday, January 28th.
Desired items including but not limited to: tickets to sports or cultural events around town, gift cards to local businesses, clothing, art, and/or travel or vacation home rentals – anything likely to draw bids at auction.
In addition, or as an alternative to donated items for the auction, we are asking that you consider making a cash donation to help fund GBS’s growing and thriving band programs.
