Director’s Notes
Hello Band Families!
Congratulations to the Marching Titans on a great first performance at the football game on Friday! You can catch the next performance this Friday at the football game!
It was so nice to see so many of our band families at Family Night in the Classroom! Thank you for attending and learning all about the band!
In an attempt to play more in the stands at football games, we will be holding an optional pep band rehearsal on Thursday at 4:30pm before marching band rehearsal. If you need a pep band packet, please email Mr. Boron as soon as possible. The first person to email with the date, time, and location of the next band fundraiser will get to pick a prize. We really enjoyed playing in the stands at the first game, so let’s play some more! The more people that are there, the more music we can prepare for games!
Marching Band families- in order to take students to our competitions, permission slips need to be signed. Students- please be sure to pick up a permission slip in the band room and return it as soon as possible. You will not be allowed to go to the competitions unless a signed permission slip is turned in.

Volunteers wear yellow shirts to be easily identified by students if they need assistance.
For every volunteer shift served during the 2026-2027 school year, you will receive 1 entry for a prize to be awarded at the GBS Band Banquet in the spring (*a member of the winner’s family must be present to collect the prize)

*If paying by check or cash, please put in an envelope with your student’s name & drop off to Mr. Boron’s office.
Student band fees help support the band in a variety of ways:
- uniform pieces
- marching band show design
- equipment items such as the golf cart
- truck rentals to transport instruments & equipment to competitions
- school owned instruments
- awards and trophies given out at the annual band banquet
- yearly show patches
- recruitment t-shirts given to 8th graders
- pizza/sandwich/etc. meals throughout the year, etc.
- concert band music
- post-concert refreshments
- misc. GBSIL expenses – website, taxes, etc.
The GBSIL also maintains an Angel Fund to subsidize band fees and partial band trip costs for families in need of financial support.
